The PU First Merit List Is Out — and the Deadline That Decides Your Seat Is Wednesday
If your name is on the Punjab University first merit list, you have until Wednesday to deposit your dues. Not next week. Not when the fee arrangement comes through. Wednesday, during banking hours.
And if your name is not on it, the more useful thing to know is that four more lists are coming and the merit drops with each one. The people who lose their seat this month are almost never the ones who missed the first list. They are the ones who were on it and did not pay in time.

Two things about this table matter more than the dates themselves.

How to check the Punjab University merit list

Every one of those creates a vacancy, and the university fills it by going further down the merit order. Closing merit for a programme therefore tends to fall from the first list to the fourth.
That is the honest reason not to give up after list one. It is also the reason the later lists move faster than people expect: by the third and fourth rounds, the university is working through a shorter queue with tighter deadlines.
What it does not mean is that everyone eventually gets in. Programmes with high demand may close early with seats full after two lists.

If you are still waiting on an intermediate result
A large number of applicants this month are in an awkward position: applying, or planning to apply, while a result is still pending. The practical advice is the same regardless of programme — track the official board announcement rather than aggregator sites, keep your provisional documents in order, and check the university’s own admission notices for how pending results are treated in your case.
Do not assume a rule you read about one university applies to another. Admission conditions are set programme by programme.
One caution about unofficial “merit list” pages
Every August, sites appear claiming to host the PU merit list as a downloadable file, and some ask you to enter personal details to see it.
The merit list is published free on the university’s own admission portal. There is no reason to give your CNIC, roll number or phone number to a third-party site to view it, and no reason to pay anyone for access. If someone is offering to arrange a seat, that is not how the merit system works.
