Before anything else, one correction, because it is spreading fast: MDCAT 2026 is on Sunday, 16 August 2026. Not the 15th. If a page tells you the 15th, close it — it is recycling last year’s content, and it is probably wrong about several other things too.

Eleven days out, the thing that decides your morning is not your revision. It is whether you walk into that hall with the right pieces of paper.

The admit card: where it comes from, and when

As of today, PMDC has not announced a release date for the 2026 roll number slip. Slips are historically issued between seven and fourteen days before the exam, which places the 2026 release in the first half of August. With the exam on 16 August, that means it is imminent — possibly this week.

Ignore any page claiming it is “already out” without linking to a PMDC notice. One widely-ranking result currently states a release date that has not yet arrived while also printing the wrong exam date in the same section. That is the standard of information you are competing with when you search.

Where you download it depends on your province, because MDCAT is conducted provincially. The conducting bodies are the University of Health Sciences in Lahore for Punjab, Khyber Medical University for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dow University of Health Sciences for Sindh, and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University in Islamabad for ICT, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Each hosts its own download portal, alongside the central PMDC route.

To download: open the PMDC portal, log in with your CNIC or B-Form number and your registration password, open the admit card section, download the PDF, and print at least two clean copies on white paper. Print on plain white A4.

Check these six fields the minute it downloads

An error found today is an administrative correction. The same error found on 16 August is a disaster.

Verify your name and father’s name, your CNIC or B-Form number, your photograph, the test centre name and address, and the test date and reporting time. If anything is wrong, contact PMDC through its official helpline immediately, well before the test date.

A blurred or incorrect photo should be reported to your provincial body within twenty-four hours with a corrected image. Centres are generally not changeable, but the provincial helpline is the only place worth asking.

Do not wait until the weekend before. The offices that fix these problems close.

What you must physically carry

This is where candidates get turned away, and almost all of it is avoidable.

Required:

• Your printed admit card. Two copies, in case one is damaged or taken.
• Your original CNIC or B-Form. A photocopy is not accepted.
• If your CNIC or B-Form is lost, the original NADRA token slip proving you have applied for a new one.
• A photo-bearing academic document such as your matriculation or intermediate certificate.
• A clean clipboard and two blue ballpoint pens — not markers, not pencils, not gel pens.

Prohibited: smartphones, smartwatches and other electronic devices are not permitted in the examination hall, and violations can lead to disciplinary action including cancellation of the paper and disqualification from future MDCAT attempts.

Read that consequence twice. It is not confiscation. It is your paper, and potentially next year’s.

Leave the phone in the car or with a family member. Centres do not run cloakrooms.

Biometric verification is now standard

PMDC has made biometric verification compulsory at all test centres for MDCAT 2026, and all candidates must complete it as part of the examination process, bringing an original CNIC or juvenile card for verification.

Two practical consequences. First, your fingerprints must actually read — if you work with your hands, avoid anything that damages fingertips in the days before. Second, biometric queues take time, which makes your reporting time non-negotiable.

Reporting time is printed on your slip and it is earlier than you think. Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre at least one hour before reporting time. In past cycles, gates have closed roughly an hour before the paper begins, with no entry afterwards. Treat the time on your slip as the absolute latest, and plan travel around a Sunday morning in a city you may not know.

The paper itself

Nothing here should be a surprise on the day.

MDCAT 2026 consists of 180 MCQs with no negative marking, distributed as Biology 81, Chemistry 45, Physics 36, English 9 and Logical Reasoning 9. The syllabus is unchanged from 2025.

No negative marking has one clear implication: never leave a blank. A guess costs nothing. An empty bubble is a guaranteed zero. Budget the last five minutes purely for filling in anything unanswered.

Around 200,000 students sit MDCAT each year, competing for roughly 4,000 MBBS seats in public medical colleges. That ratio is why the marginal marks from guessed questions matter.

What is genuinely not confirmed — and where sites disagree

Being honest about this is more useful than pretending certainty.

Eligibility percentage. Published guides disagree. One states the requirement as at least 60% in HSSC pre-medical or equivalent, while another states 65% for MBBS and 60% for BDS, describing the higher figure as an increase for 2026. If you are near either line, this matters enormously and only the PMDC notice settles it.

Juvenile documentation for under-18s. One report describes a Juvenile Registration Certificate from NADRA as a confirmed new 2026 requirement for candidates under eighteen, in addition to the B-Form. Another states that the juvenile identity card condition for under-18 candidates was withdrawn, while the domicile requirement remains. These cannot both be current. Registration deadlines. Registration is closed either way, but the reported dates differ between sources — some list the regular deadline as 8 July with late fees to 13 July, others as 13 July with late fees to 18 July. Irrelevant now, but a useful signal of how much of this content is copied rather than checked.

Where sources conflict, one rule applies: the PMDC public notice and the instructions printed on your own slip outrank every website, including this one.

If you registered through NUMS

Registering with PMDC does not register you for NUMS-affiliated colleges. NUMS runs a separate account, a separate form and a separate fee, with its own admit card.

If you intend to apply to NUMS institutions, you need both, and the second one will not appear in your PMDC dashboard.

Your final eleven days

• Today: confirm your registration status and your login works. A forgotten password on 14 August is a bad afternoon.
• This week: watch the PMDC portal and your provincial university site daily for the slip. Download the hour it appears.
• Same day it lands: verify all six fields. Report errors immediately.
• A few days before: travel to the centre address once if it is in an unfamiliar area, or at least confirm the route and Sunday transport.
• Night before: documents, clipboard, two blue ballpoints and both printed copies in one bag. Phone stays out of it.
• Exam morning: arrive early enough that biometric queues cannot hurt you.
